Hotel Review: InterContinental Rome De La Ville

For my fourth night in Rome during Eurotrip 2015 I decided to stay at the InterContinental Rome De La Ville, at the top of the Spanish Steps in Rome and just minutes from Piazza di Spagna and Villa Borghese.

After a brief wait, I was checked in by noon and given a room on the fourth floor. The room wasn’t as big as the one at the Waldorf but was perfect for my needs. And more than posh for my needs as well. I booked it using an IHG free night certificate; the room rate at time of booking was $538. The king bed was very comfortable from what I remember and the bathroom was larger than expected.

The room also had a door that opened to a beautiful inner courtyard that is shared among all fourth floor interior rooms.

I didn’t get breakfast in the morning because it’s not included for lowly IHG Platinum members and I didn’t feel like eating a hotel breakfast when there was so much good food in the city. Regardless, the Category 9 InterContinental De La Ville is in a great location and is normally quite expensive; if you can get the room on points (50,000) or with a free night certificate, it’s a pretty good redemption.
